Welcome to Inherent. By booking an appointment or using our website, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These terms are designed to ensure a safe, professional, and respectful experience for both the therapist and the client.
1. Services & Scope of Practice
Inherent provides specialised massage and Reiki energy healing focused on the well-being of mind and body.
Integrative Approach: Our services are integrative and complementary in nature. They are not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Educational Content: The information provided in our website, blog, social channels, through our educational materials and also during sessions is for educational and informational purposes only and does not constitute professional medical or psychological advice.
Professional Boundaries: We do not diagnose medical conditions, prescribe medications, or perform spinal manipulations. Clients are encouraged to consult a qualified healthcare professional for any medical concerns.
2. Booking & Appointments
Scheduling: All appointments are managed through our online booking system (Setmore).
Arrival: Please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled time to allow for a calm transition into your session. Late arrivals may result in a shortened session time to ensure the next client is not delayed, with the full treatment fee still applying.
3. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy
We value your time and ours. As a small business, late cancellations significantly impact us.
Notice Required: We require at least 48 hours’ notice for any cancellations or rescheduling.
Cancellation Fee: Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice, or "no-shows," will be subject to a fee of 100% of the treatment cost.
Emergency: We understand that emergencies happen. Please contact us as soon as possible if you cannot attend due to unforeseen circumstances.
4. Payments & Refunds
Accepted Payment Methods: For your convenience, we accept payments via Credit/Debit Card (processed securely through Square) and Cash.
Cash Payments: If paying by cash, we kindly ask that you provide the exact amount where possible, as limited change may be kept on the premises for security reasons.
Payment Timing: Payment is due at the time of booking (for online prepayments) or immediately following your treatment in the studio.
Service Standards & Refund Policy: Inherent is dedicated to providing professional, high-quality care tailored to individual client requirements. As bodywork and Reiki represent services involving time and expertise rendered in real-time, all fees for completed sessions are strictly non-refundable.
Feedback and Real-Time Adjustments: Client well-being is our primary focus. We encourage open communication to ensure session objectives are met. If you have concerns regarding your treatment, please raise them with the therapist during the session or immediately afterward. This allows for real-time adjustments and ensures the service remains aligned with your expectations.
5. Client Responsibility
Health Disclosure: It is the client’s responsibility to provide accurate health information via the intake form and to update the therapist on any changes to their health status.
Informed Consent: By booking, you consent to receive the treatment discussed and understand the risks and benefits associated with bodywork and Reiki.
Right to Refuse Service: We reserve the right to refuse or terminate a session at any time for reasons of safety, contraindications to treatment, or inappropriate behaviour.
6. Client Conduct
Zero Tolerance Policy. Inherent maintains a strictly professional, therapeutic environment with a zero-tolerance policy for inappropriate behaviour, including:
Sexual innuendos, suggestive comments, or any form of sexual harassment
Discriminatory remarks based on gender, age, nationality, body appearance, or any other protected characteristic
Disrespectful remarks or actions directed at the therapist or other clients
Harassment, intimidation, or aggressive behaviour of any kind
Any such behaviour will result in immediate termination of the session, the client will be required to leave the premises, the full treatment fee will be charged, and a permanent ban from the practice will be enforced. The matter may be reported to An Garda Síochána if necessary.
7. Website & Digital Content — Intellectual Property
All content created by Inherent across our website, social media, blog, and other digital platforms—including text, branding, and images—is the property of Inherent unless otherwise specified. Where content is sourced from third parties, credit is provided to the respective owners.
This includes, but is not limited to, Inherent's brand messaging, taglines, original copywriting, and distinctive phrasing used across all marketing and promotional materials. Reproduction, distribution, copying, or adaptation of any material—including brand statements and promotional copy—is strictly prohibited without prior written permission from Lavinia Messina/Inherent, or from the original copyright holder where applicable.
8. Governing Law and Exclusive Jurisdiction
These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ireland. Any disputes relating to these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
Whether delivered in-person or via distance/online modalities, all services are legally performed, delivered, and concluded within Ireland. You agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these sessions shall be governed strictly by the laws of Ireland. You hereby expressly waive any right to bring a claim in any court outside of Ireland. You unconditionally agree that the courts of Ireland shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any legal proceedings. You further agree to waive any right to a trial by jury or to participate in a class-action lawsuit.
